Trees

It surprises me when I think about how the silhouette of a tree is it’s identity. No two trees can have the same outline. It’s identity is not the place it’s in, not the species it is, but the outline. When one sees a tree in line with the sun behind it, one can truly admire it’s curves, the shape of the trunk, the leaves, and the branches. What made the trees grow like that? Was it just it’s upbringing? Who were it’s parents? Maybe the sun, the soil, the water beneath the soil, maybe even other trees. But it is what it is now. And it will be different tomorrow when the wind changes it’s course. And it will keep on changing it’s shape until the day it dies. There will be no leaves, there will be no flowers, but it will still stand, as long as there’s a sun in the sky.
